Khan Lab School has a unique philosophy— one focused on students going in depth in each subject and mastering their courses. This ideology should be reflected in every part of our learning experience, from the curriculum to the schedules. But because our schedules have been overhauled and reformed in so many ways, we’re sure everyone is wondering how the newest schedule ties into the school’s philosophy and ultimately benefits the student body. We wanted to understand how the new Upper School Director, Laura Haney, interprets KLS’s core values and ties in these huge schedule changes. We also wanted to hear from existing students about how the schedule changes have impacted them. Is there a method to the madness or is it just madness?
