Dragon’s Veil Part 1

Chapter 1
A sense of calmness washed over me. My dark brown hair rustled in the wind as my shirt blew back. Bits of grass covered my red and black shorts, as I watched the sun set over the field of golden grass. No one knows why the sun dragon put his flaming ball in the sea, only to reignite it in the day. Some believe that he is the king of this world, that he has given up his life to serve us. Others believe he is a prisoner of his own pride, seeking to announce himself every day, and have everyone see him.
“Dinner time, Mr. Danger!”
“Coming mum.”
“Don’t go all British on me!”
“You don’t call me Mr. Danger.”
“Just come now. I made ravioli.”
I ran as fast as I could right through my house veil. That’s odd. The house didn't ask for the password or DNA identification. Is there a glitch? I wondered. There’s never been a glitch. As I walked inside, the scenery changed from an infinite field of golden grass to a quaint suburb.
“Hey mom, the house veil did not ask for a password! Is there a glitch?” I shouted, “MOM! MOM!” I frantically ran upstairs and searched around. I slowly realized that no one was home.
“Gotcha!”
“AHHHHHHHHH!”
My vision faded as I saw a man drag me into a blue, shining, portal.
Chapter 2
Are you sure I'm the savior? Cause I know a guy.
“Where am I!?”
“You are where you need to be,” the strange man said. He was maybe 30-35-year-old man that looked like a veteran? He looked like one, sporting almost 30 badges and matching pants like a high-ranked soldier. Everything looked steam pressed, and I could not see a speck of dust on it.
I looked around to find that I was in a void dimension. Everywhere around me was white, and the only things as far as I could see were the chair that I was magically bound to and the odd man in front of me.
“Shit!” I said, frantically trying to unbind myself.
“You can’t brute force your way out of these ties I'm afraid.” The strange man said, looking at me like a caged animal.
“What do you wa-AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!” I fell down another portal and landed in a pile of spellbooks.
“WHAT THE F-”
“Finally, we found you!” A man in a tuxedo with slicked-back hair greeted me, book in hand and a jade amulet around his neck.
“Flip, I meant flip” I quickly stated. The stranger looked like a lawyer, except for the fact that he was currently stabbing the tattoo on his arm with a dragon jeweled knife.
“Despite the fact that you are a young, naive actor that goes by the name,” he cleared his throat, “Sir Lysolof Josef Danger III, better known by your acting name, Mr. Danger; the crime-fighting dragon human that protects the world from evil like superman.”
“Who’s Superman?”
“Ignore that. The important part is that you are famous. And this is not without reason. You are, in fact, the incarnation of the dragon god of wealth and luck. The son of the sun dragon.” He was so calm while saying it sounded like an ordinary thing.
“I get it.”
“You do? I am surprised you did not freak out.”
“You are one of the dragnappers. The ones that hold dragons hostage and ransom them!”
“No, you are actually the only one in the world that can save the sun dragon.”
“Are you sure? Cause I know a guy that has more luck than me!”
“I'm sure. You’re a wizard, Harry.”
“Who's Harry and what is a wizard!”
I jumped up and kicked the dragon in the head, but he just stood there unmoving. That kick was not just movie action but had actually kicked people back 100 meters, and this guy just stood there, my foot still pushing on his forehead. I tensed up as he slowly moved his hand towards my foot and pulled it off.
“You will soon see that hand-to-hand combat will not work on me, for I am the best at that in the monastery.”
“Teach me how you did that.”
“This is kind of like the matrix.”
“What’s the matrix?”
“Nevermind. Come with me, and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination. We are going to the monastery.”
